The restaurant Hmeli & Suneli’s, which became favourite, from group of LRG restaurants (London Restaurant Group) have been decided to be duplicated for the first time. Earlier the administration of the restaurant refused from the similar ideas flatly. But enormous attendance of this restaurant forced the administration to change the opinion. Now the restaurant is also situated on Krasnaya Polyana, namely at the top of the mountain skiing complex “Gazprom”.
The view of the snow-covered mountains is inimitable, open area and cozy hall. It is in habitual style, simply but in a good taste. This time the partially open kitchen is substituted with a smorgasbord. On weekends, from Friday to Sunday from 10:00 till 17:00 you take the food from the offered range yourself. The menu is still produced by wonderful Timur Agzamov)… It is not a secret that he is one of three of my main tutors, he has a lot to learn. But in this case the dishes are the same as at the central restaurant, but with small additions in the form of winter hot drinks, various game, pies and patties.That’s why it is nothing to surprise that it is delightful as usual, of course, but sometimes quality of the products is failed… There are better alternatives to the location, it would be much more pleasant to contemplate Hmeli & Suneli’s in the ski resort “Rosa Khutor”.
It is more reputable and popular complex. In general it is the best of all and the biggest with a variety of slopes and establishments of all branches. But the competition is enormous in its turn and the all places are already taken. It’s not the same with everybody, personally I like most of all routes at the good old “Gazprom”. And at the top of the fir grove the given restaurant is the only place where you can eat tasty. Also for the comfortable snack there is screens bar No. 9 at the main slope, it is a place with hot drinks and quick food from the restaurant. In the restaurant in “Krasnaya Polyana” the prices are more expensive than in the center and dishes are opposite partially simplified. Though the special prestige may not be kept when people walk in ski boots and overalls in the hall. To eat tasty and quickly – that’s what is needed, home cuisine is appreciated everywhere. So now more details about favourite positions — splendid pastries, khachapuri, patties and home meat pies or for a dessert rich ones with various fillings (raspberry, blackcurrant and with apricot or cherry).
Also the range is expanded with hot dishes, the soups have been added and now besides meat dumplings in broth there is also different vareniki which are also molded every morning. An amazing view of the mountains from a cozy verandah where it is especially pleasant to enjoy speciality hot drinks on the basis of Krasnaya Polyana tea with ginger, sea-buckthorn, thyme etc. On a choice various fruit drinks and unusual novelties like a compote from a wild pear. The courteous waiters who will tell about this drink and all the rest in detail are at your service. By the way now they wear a new uniform, sport clothes. It is probably because guests might have impression as if a waiter is dressed more decently))).
But in my opinion it is cool, conveniently and suits sport theme, besides they work in such clothes obviously quicker… The design bears a faint resemblance to the central restaurant, sofas and chairs are the most common. I liked beautiful wavy ceiling, which is also quite high was, very much. But the rest in my opinion is too simple and can hardly express “subject matter” of the restaurant somehow.
Though with the reputation of the restaurant, it doesn’t make special sense to confirm the status. The main thing is food, taste of dishes is always on the first place. And in this case here we have no problems, as usual salads and snacks in unusual variations with author’s sauces, juicy tender meat, aromatic rich hot dishes and, of course, wonderful seasonable sweets. Hmeli & Suneli is a peculiar trendsetter of fashion of the Sochi public catering. This is deserved and more than reputable title.
